Spa Operations Supervisor

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Spa Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Spa with the support of the Spa Director and/or Spa Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Facilitate all onboarding training for new Spa Receptionist and Facilitator candidates and assist Lead Therapist and Lead Esthetician with onboarding training for new providers
• Ongoing training for Spa Receptionist, Facilitator teams and Providers for Forbes Standards, treatments and daily operations
• Conduct and assist the Spa Manager with shadow shifts with new Spa Receptionist and Facilitator team members
• Complete daily lineups, weekly service audits and role plays
• Ensure the Spa Receptionist and Facilitator team supports and consistently executes the Salamander Vision, Brand Promise and Core Values of Hotel Bennett
• Continuously review, update and implement the necessary Spa Operations SOPs ensuring that all standards are met
• Assist with managing the maintenance of the fitness center, locker rooms and any amenities associated with the spa
• Assist Spa Manager, when necessary, with office supply orders and internal requisitions through Yellow Dog
• Review SpaSoft for potential errors in bookings and balance schedule daily
• Assist with managing the online requests sent from reservations
• Oversee the daily operations of the Spa Reception and Facility areas
• Assist Spa Manager with group bookings
• Assist with MOD shifts and complete the necessary tasks as outlined by the MOD Log
• The Operations Supervisor will cover Spa Receptionist shifts as needed
• Ensure that all Spa Receptionist and Facilitators are following the Forbes Five Star standards on a daily basis
• Follow up on spa inquiries, special requests and VIPs
• Ensure the Spa Receptionists and Facilitator teams are completing their opening/closing duties
• Assign weekly and monthly tasks to Spa Receptionist and Facilitator teams and ensure they are complete
• Assist with special events as assigned by the Spa Director and/or Spa Manager
• Complete projects, tasks and staff requests in a timely manner
• Assist with handling all staff's misconduct and/or irresponsibility
• Will be responsible for assisting with timely documentation and the discipline of the staff members in accordance with progressive discipline procedures outlined in company and with the support of the Spa Director and/or Spa Manager
• Liaise with the Spa Director and/or Spa Manager or retail initiatives and incentives
• Responsible for driving retail sales amongst the Spa Receptionist team
• Assist with receiving, restocking and merchandising of retail products
• Attends management/departmental meetings/trainings as necessary
• Attend Spa Management meeting when scheduled
• Support the Spa Manager with facilitating and scheduling Spa Receptionist/Spa Facilitators/Provider meetings
• Attend all Spa staff meetings
• Assist in preparing for special guests and VIPs
• Complete projects, tasks and staff requests in a timely manner
• Assist with relevant issues, statistics and planning

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED. Must maintain all current licenses and certifications that are required on a state and local level
• 2 years in a supervisory role
• 2 years in a luxury spa environment

REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, walk and use hands/fingers to handle or feel
• Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors
• Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions
