Description Summary: The Production Worker supports Mettle Ops’ manufacturing operations by performing hands-on assembly, equipment operation, and material handling tasks. This role ensures products are built to quality standards while maintaining efficiency and safety on the production floor. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and works well in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, contributing directly to projects that support U.S. defense operations. Key Responsibilities Operate production equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently. Assemble components and perform visual and dimensional inspections for quality compliance. Maintain clean, organized workstations and assist in production setup and teardown. Handle materials, packaging, labeling, and prepare finished goods for shipment. Follow production schedules and communicate any issues or delays to supervisors. Document completed work, inventory movement, and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns. Collaborate with team members to improve workflow, processes, and productivity. Adhere to company and OSHA safety standards and participate in regular safety inspections. Work Environment and Conditions Environment: Primarily indoors; work performed in manufacturing and warehouse areas across multiple nearby buildings. Physical Demands: Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Communication: Regular interaction with production staff, supervisors, and delivery personnel. Pace: Moderate to fast-paced with emphasis on accuracy and meeting production deadlines. Position Requirements Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalence Certificate required. Additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing or logistics preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or assembly role preferred but not required. Knowledge Areas Production and Processing: Understanding of manufacturing techniques, equipment, and quality control. Transportation and Shipping: Familiarity with materials handling, documentation, and logistics processes. Safety and Security: Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe handling procedures. Clerical: Ability to complete basic forms, checklists, and documentation accurately. Skills and Abilities Active Listening: Fully attentive to instructions and able to ask clarifying questions. Coordination: Works effectively with team members to meet goals. Critical Thinking: Uses logic and reasoning to identify and solve problems. Operation Monitoring: Observes gauges, dials, or indicators to ensure machines function properly. Time Management: Efficiently manages own time and contributes to team productivity.
