* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract **CHEMO CERT PREFERRED, NOT REQ Unit Information • Unit Type: PCU Oncology (5 North) • Primary Patient Population: Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients • Number of Beds: 18 Experience Requirements • Minimum 1 year of experience required yes • First-time travelers are accepted?? yes • Is both Oncology and PCU experience required, or is strong PCU experience without Oncology experience acceptable? oncology preferred • Charge nurse experience required? If so, is 1 year minimum correct? not required Certifications • BLS - Required • ACLS - Required • ONS/ONCC - Required or Preferred? (current preferred, not required) Ratios • Days: 1:4-1:5 • Nights: 1:4-1:5 Shifts • 12-hour shifts • 0630a-7:00p • 0630p-7:00a • Every other weekend • Self-scheduling - but will balance to the needs of the unit Floating • Travelers float to other Med/Surg and PCU units? yes • Float assignments remain at the same level of care? yes Orientation • Two days of unit orientation? yes Drips & Skills Can you confirm: • RNs occasionally titrate Insulin and Cardizem drips? yes • Common drips/medications include: o Chemotherapy o Heparin o Cardizem o Protonix • Any additional titratable drips travelers should be comfortable managing?
