Co-op Benefits Package Including: Competitive wages Paid holidays & vacation 401K match up to 6% Employee Appreciation Events Continuous learning opportunities through in-person, hybrid, and virtual training opportunities Your Key Responsibilities The Co-op will be assigned an engineering project aligned with Schaeffler’s current research and development initiatives within the Engine or Chassis departments. In addition, the Co-op will collaborate closely with the engineering team on a daily basis, contributing to a range of innovative and technically challenging projects. Support hardware architecture design, including component sizing and selection, in contributing to development and/or validation of complex mechatronic systems (e.g., selection of mirco-processors, sensors, actuators, DAQ devices, signal processing circuits for HiL test environments) Perform data analysis in supporting system characterization/modeling, continuous improvement efforts, calibration, triage and validation activities Develop (i.e., architect, design, implement, validate, and parameterize) algorithms to enable intended system function in coordination with stakeholder and application requirements Interfacing teams – effectively communicate with these cross functional teams in order to effectively complete assigned tasks Need to be responsible, able to work independently, and open to instruction S/he will be given developmental opportunities through tasks such as projects, job-rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to Schaeffler's technological processes Your Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication ability (written &verbal) Extremely self-motivated & driven to achieve results Assertive approach to solving problems Ability to prioritize The ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, and lift and move thirty pounds 3D CAD modeling and software preferred Mechanical hobbyist preferred As a global company with employees around the world, it is important to us that we treat each other with respect and value all ideas and perspectives.
