Property and Casualty Underwriting Coordinator

Position Summary The Property and Casualty Underwriting Coordinator is responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation related to insurance applications and underwriting submissions. The role coordinates the renewal process and underwrites individual insurance applications for property and casualty coverage. They conduct audits, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and deliver excellent customer service. Job Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and physical files for underwriting records, policies, and endorsements. Document underwriting decisions via automated desktop systems and tools. Support the collection, validation, and organization of data related to insurance applications and underwriting submissions. Coordinate the renewal process by gathering necessary information, preparing renewal documents, and assisting in client communications. Coordinate with others to manage production activities such as submissions, quotes, declines, binds, issuance, and more to provide accurate, timely, and quality service to clients. Underwrite individual insurance applications for Property and Casualty coverage, applying established guidelines for policy issuance, considering both standard and substandard criteria. Ensure underwriting activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards. Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation and information related to underwriting activities. Collaborate with underwriting teams to relay information, coordinate tasks, and support the overall underwriting process. Communicate with clients, brokers, and underwriters to gather additional information, clarify details, and address inquiries regarding underwriting submissions. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for clients and stakeholders. Work Experience and Education Minimum of 6 months of experience in underwriting coordination, administrative support, or customer service roles in the insurance industry. Preferred: Experience with insurance policy issuance and renewal processes. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field preferred. Benefits and Compensation The target hourly rate range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00 per hour, based on training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands.
