Liquor Store Associate

Job Summary This role is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service, consistent operating conditions, and a friendly atmosphere. Essential Responsibilities Compliance – Observe customers and check identification for age verification, identify customers who should not be served additional alcohol, monitor to prevent open containers from leaving the store. Deny sale of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated customers. (50% of time) Customer Excellence – Provide continuous attention to customers’ needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly manner; offer product suggestions when appropriate. (25% of time) Operational Excellence – Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently; operate department equipment and cashiering equipment accurately; keep work area clean, orderly, free from safety hazards; report faulty equipment and hazards. (25% of time) Qualifications – Required High School Diploma or GED. English – Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. 0–3 years of relevant experience; no supervisory experience required. At least 21 years of age. TIPS training required prior to start date. Authorization to work in the United States. Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and background check. Basic computer skills for online training. Customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced and busy environment. High standard of integrity and reliability. Compliance with all company policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma (above GED). Spanish language ability. Work Environment Retail – general heavy. Requires standing or walking, manual dexterity, repetitive movements; may lift up to 250 lbs. Work may involve indoor, outdoor, cold, wet, and other conditions. Shift & Position Details Full‑time. No overnight travel. Entry‑level position. Required Certifications & Training Cicerone Certification; Alcohol Compliance Training; Tapping and configuring kegs; Perfect Pour Essentials; Beer Science & Styles; Wine & Spirits Training; Cigar/Humidor training; Sampling station – wine dispenser; DSD/Receiving – Fintech, Reclaim; FIM (Fresh Item Management); Cashier training; Cash Office training; Lottery services; Grocery stocking, rotation, ordering, merchandising; Pricing – tags, signs, ad changes; MOD training – open and close store.
