Medical Director

Medical Director (Full-Time) A Division of York County Community Action Corp. Nasson Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center with clinical sites in Springvale and Biddeford, Maine. We serve York County and neighboring communities through provision of fully integrated medical, dental and behavioral health care. Position Summary The Medical Director serves as the clinical leader for Nasson Health Care and works collaboratively with medical and administrative teams to provide comprehensive primary care using the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. This role combines direct patient care with clinical leadership, quality improvement, provider oversight, and strategic planning to support the organization’s mission and long-term goals. Key Responsibilities Provide direct clinical services in accordance with the highest standards of medical practice and organizational policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to manage patients with high-risk and complex conditions within an integrated care model. Ensure continuity of care through appropriate referrals, inpatient coordination, and timely follow-up after hospital discharge. Maintain current medical knowledge through continuing education and ongoing professional development. Serve as a clinical resource for physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and other clinical staff. Lead quality improvement and quality assurance (QI/QA) initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Nasson Health Care. Participate in compliance, risk management, and financial oversight programs to support safe, high-quality, and compliant care delivery. Provide clinical oversight and mentorship for physicians and APPs. Support staff education, provider training, case reviews, and evidence-based clinical learning opportunities. Qualifications Applicants must: Hold a medical degree from an accredited U.S. medical school Be Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics Possess an unrestricted Maine medical license Hold a current U.S. DEA license Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Director in a primary care setting Experience with Meaningful Use-certified electronic medical record (EMR) systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong understanding of Evidence-based practice Social and behavioral determinants of health Population health management Integrated medical, behavioral health, and dental care Health information technology and Meaningful Use standards Additional Requirements Must not have an active exclusion record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Hepatitis B, annual Influenza vaccine, and completion of the COVID-19 primary vaccine series Benefits Health, dental, vision, and basic life insurance Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Student Loan Repayment Nasson Health Care is an approved site for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Student Loan Repayment Program.
