Job Title : Medical Technologist

Location : Atlanta, Georgia, 30342

Shift : 7a-330p Varies

Contract : 13 weeks with high possibility of extension

Guaranteed Hours : 40/week

Pay : $50/hour

JOB DUTIES :

• Perform Laboratory Tests – Conduct diagnostic tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other body samples using laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Analyze and Interpret Results – Examine test findings, identify abnormalities, and ensure accurate reporting of results to healthcare providers.
• Operate and Maintain Equipment – Use, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure reliable performance.
• Ensure Quality Control – Follow quality assurance protocols, verify test accuracy, and comply with laboratory standards and regulations.
• Prepare and Handle Specimens – Collect, label, process, and store patient specimens according to established procedures.
• Maintain Laboratory Records – Document test results, equipment maintenance, quality control data, and other laboratory activities accurately.
• Follow Safety and Infection Control Procedures – Adhere to biosafety guidelines, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure a safe laboratory environment.

REQUIREMENT :

• Min 2 years of recent experience within specialty. Cerner Experience.
• Requires: ASCP, AMT, AAB.
• Facility will ONLY consider Med Lab Technologist & Med Lab Scientist. Med Lab Technician will NOT be considered.

PREFERENCE :

• Sysmex and CellaVision systems experience .
• Large hospital laboratory (600+ beds) experience
• Our facility also includes large neonatal units, and performing differentials accurately is a critical part of our daily operations.
• We also deal with a wide variety of complex samples on a daily basis including turbid specimens, platelet clumps, and abnormal cell findings so its important that the candidate is already familiar with managing these challenges
