Civil Engineer - Site Development

The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Focus on the delivery of civil site development projects and will assist in the design, construction, and project management of a wide variety of projects involving grading design, stormwater design, erosion control design, culvert design, and pavement design, etc.
• Have hands‑on involvement in the permitting process.
• Have significant interaction with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs.
• Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub‑consultants.
• Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients.
• Maintain effective communication with other engineering disciplines and the project team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the 2024 Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington.
• Proven experience on Puget Sound Energy projects, specifically performing site development.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington State.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country, country of practice, or equivalent engineering experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
• Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
• Typical office/home office environment. Physical demands include sitting, talking, grasping, hearing, keyboard input, driving, seeing, writing, reaching, stooping, crouching, walking, standing for extended periods of time.
• May require travel to local and regional client sites.
