What you can expect as a Teardown & Evaluation Inspector at DAS Aviation: As a Teardown & Evaluation Inspector, you will play a critical role in our repair and overhaul process. You will carefully disassemble and inspect a wide variety of mechanical components and assemblies to uncover hidden damage, wear, or defects. Your technical findings will directly guide the repair team and ensure compliance with strict safety and quality standards. You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including Extensive use of hand, electric, and air driven power tools. Must be able to read basic Engineering drawings. Teardown and Inspect components for proper assembly by using and understanding component repair techniques and to assure they meet all approved data requirements. Coordinate with Engineering for documentation of repairs that exceed repair data. Asure discrepancies, inspection continuity sheets, and other forms have been inserted into the work order binder as needed. Computer data entry. Research a variety of I.C.A. data. Utilize precision measuring equipment (able to use a variety of electronic ohm meters, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, torque wrenches, etc.) Communicate discovered quality occurrences with other Inspectors/Supervisors during the teardown/evaluation process. Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Performadditionalduties asassigned by supervisors or management. Whatyou’llneed To Bring With You Your Education High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in related field (aviation or maintenance mechanic) or equivalent preferred. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but notrequired. Your Experience 3+ years of experience performing component sheet metal structural, metal to metal and composite bonding repair maintenance and inspections. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification is beneficial but notrequired. Familiarity with Corridor is preferred. Experience accessing and navigating a variety of Aviation OEM data portals. Prior use of Microsoft computer programs. Your Sense ofResponsibility Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including overtime and weekend assignments asrequired. Notify supervisor prior to shift start if unable to report to work. Maintain reliable transportation to and from work. Perform all workin accordance withFAA regulations, approved technical data, and company procedures. Other Particulars Follow all company safety policies and operational requirements. Physical Requirements Lift at least 50 lbs. Routine walking,bendingandsquattingor sittingfor extended periods. Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Mental Requirements Ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Working Conditions The majority ofwork will beaccomplishedin a shop environment. Equipment Used Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Pneumatic,hydraulicand electrical equipment. Jacks, stands,liftsand other support devices. Personal computer and work order prints.
