The Behavior Specialist helps coordinate and implement Behavior Intervention Plan that address student
behaviors and provide a means to help students become more successful. The Behavior Intervention Specialist
provides leadership and direction to design, implement, coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive behavior
support program. In addition, the Behavior Specialist works directly with identified students to adopt behaviors
that substantially increase their academic performance. Under the supervision of the building principal, the
Behavior Intervention Specialist will provide diversified strategies and activities specifically designed for targeted
students. The teacher will implement into daily student instruction appropriate educational curriculum based on
the Nevada State Standards and the Carson School District expectations. The teacher will create and maintain an
educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and

individual student needs to improve student behaviors.
• Teach socially acceptable behaviors, as determined from a variety of data sources such as a student's
