Job Title

Travel RN – Emergency Room

Location

Salem, VA | Emergency Department

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week | Weekend shifts expected (Saturday or Sunday) within a four-week scheduling period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed Emergency Department with patient ratios of 4–6:1
• Perform and assist with procedures including RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement
• Manage care of psychiatric patients and coordinate transfers to other facilities in accordance with EMTALA guidelines
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, RNs, and medics across day shift staffing levels
• Maintain required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with Emergency Room specialty
• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room experience
• Must have completed 2–3 prior travel assignments
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Ability to work weekend shifts as part of the four-week scheduling rotation (no on-call required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Departments
• Comfort managing patient ratios of 5:1
• Additional certifications such as ENPC, NRP, or NIH Stroke Scale
• Relaxed, team-oriented, and adaptable personality with strong interpersonal skills
