Position Summary: As a school physical therapist, you'll support students with disabilities or injuries by assessing their physical abilities and providing interventions that promote participation and success in school activities.
- Providing specialized services to students with disabilities or injuries that impact participation in educational activities
- Assessing students' physical abilities to support access and engagement
- Developing individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals
- Implementing interventions to improve motion, mobility, and school participation
- Conducting assessments
- Managing adaptations and equipment
- Using best practices to enhance students' physical functioning
- Developing IEP goals and objectives
- Creating fitness and wellness programs tailored to students needs
- Delivering quality, personalized, and evidence-based therapy
- Consulting and collaborating with school team members
- Documenting therapy sessions and monitoring progress
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Certification from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or eligibility for certification
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist
