Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7P–7A) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit serving an adult cardiac population, including cardiac observation, post cardiac cath lab patients, and cardioversion patients
• Monitor patients via telemetry equipment and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac status
• Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1, delivering safe and effective nursing care in a fast-paced stepdown environment
• Document patient assessments and care accurately using the Paragon EHR system
• Float to other units as required per facility float policy
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina or a compact state
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• At least 2 years of RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Step-down or ICU experience required
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac patient populations, including cardiac observation and post-procedural care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac-focused nursing interventions
• Experience with the Paragon EHR system
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills and flexibility in a dynamic unit environment
