Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Circulate in the OR — required for all candidates
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments — required for all candidates
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Float as needed to Postpartum and Antepartum units, including sister facilities offering Mother/Baby care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with high-risk L&D experience required
• Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR and provide full newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Must pass clinical review; current Nursys verification required at submission
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate; locals are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
