Mission

The Retail Sales Associate will maximize selling opportunities by having friendly interactions with customers, providing product information and purchase recommendations, and ultimately closing sales.

Pay

$17-$20/hour plus commission

Schedule

Part-time, 10–25 hours per week. Flexible availability is required, including evenings and weekends as needed. Additional hours may be available based on business needs.

Outcomes

Successful candidates will:

• Generate sales that meet or exceed monthly targets

• Anticipate customer needs and suggestively sell products and services to enhance the customer’s outdoor experience

• Arrange merchandise within the store and window displays in an appealing and creative way to encourage increased sales

• Provide buyer/customer assistance in all areas of the retail store as needed, to ensure a friendly, positive, and professional shopping experience

• Test customer water samples and provide guidance for proper water care of pools and spas

• Assist in the unloading of trucks and stocking of merchandise

• Maintain showroom and stock areas by organizing shelves, folding and hanging merchandise according to size and style, and performing light housekeeping duties throughout the workday

• Identify merchandise trends and make recommendations to management for new product offerings 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Previous retail and/or customer service work experience preferred

• Enthusiasm for skiing and/or snowboarding desirable

• Weekend and evening work required

• Customer friendly, an outgoing personality, and a positive attitude

• Observant and well organized 

• Ability to work in a collaborative team, in a fast-paced environment

Physical and Environmental Conditions

• Talking and hearing, standing and walking, using hands to grasp, and reaching with arms/hands, are required.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently, to move objects.

• No exposure to adverse environmental conditions; work is performed in a typical office/retail store environment.
