Summary

Weisiger Group is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Cyber Security team to lead the design, build, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise security platforms. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience building and managing security and identity platforms in enterprise environments, with the majority of that experience centered on Microsoft technologies including Defender, Purview, Entra ID, and Active Directory. Strong knowledge of Microsoft IAM platforms and experience leveraging Conditional Access policies across corporate laptops and Apple mobile devices is also important for success in this role. This role also values strong experience with Tenable, Proofpoint, Cisco Secure Access, and Firepower experience considered beneficial. The right candidate will have strong troubleshooting and communication skills and will partner with the Director of Cybersecurity to help drive the company's security strategy, platform roadmap, and continuous improvement efforts.

The Security Engineer is responsible for the design, staging, configuration, implementation, optimization, and support of core Cyber Security platforms including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Proofpoint, Tenable, and Cisco Firepower and Secure Access. This role provides technical leadership in planning and carrying out security measures that protect sensitive data, identities, endpoints, and infrastructure from cyber threats. This is a hands-on technical engineering role for someone who has real experience building mature security platforms, improving operational effectiveness, and supporting long-term platform strategy. The role is part of the IT Cyber Security Team and interacts with other IT teams, internal customers, and external vendors.

Essential Functions

• Design and implement security systems and tools to protect data, infrastructure, and applications.
• Serve as an escalation path for operational support personnel
• Development of system maintenance and operational standards and procedures
• Educate employees on security awareness and conduct phishing simulations or training campaigns.
• Vendor relationship, strategy, and planning coordination with Director
• Responsible for design, staging, configuration, implementation, and support for Cyber Security platforms
• Manage vulnerability management platform
• Assist with Incident Response Management
• Monitor and Investigate Security Breaches
• Perform Security Infrastructure system maintenances, upgrades and migrations
• Manage endpoint security and threat detection systems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Certified: Azure Security Engineer, CASP, or other Security certification is desired
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building, implementing, and managing enterprise security, identity, or infrastructure platforms is required
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft security and identity platforms is required, including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Microsoft IAM capabilities such as Conditional Access; the ideal candidate will have experience leveraging conditional Access policies across corporate laptops and Apple mobile devices.
• Experience with additional security platforms is strongly preferred, especially Tenable, Cisco Secure Access, Proofpoint; experience with Cisco Firepower is also valuable
• Strong understanding of Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, and enterprise endpoint or identity administration is required
• Nice to have: experience securing enterprise AI platforms such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot, including controls for data protection, user access, agent governance, and integration risk
