Job Title: Travel RN - PCU Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care PCU hospital experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Minimum 1 year current acute care PCU hospital experience BLS & ACLS certifications Description: This is a travel RN position in a progressive care unit. The unit has a total of 30 beds and approximately 65 staff members. Staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 5-8 RNs, and 2-4 PCTs during day shifts. Night shifts follow a similar staffing pattern. Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:4 and may occasionally be 1:5. Equipment used on the unit includes telemetry monitors, suction machines, feeding pumps, BIPAP, CPAP, and IV pumps. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Candidates must possess skills in chest tube management, EKG interpretation, and oxygen management. Common procedures performed include post-cardiac catheterization care, pre- and post-operative care for open-heart surgical patients, and vascular surgery post-operative care. The unit values teamwork, communication, and adaptability. This is a fast-paced and challenging environment focusing on high-acuity progressive and intermediate care.
