MS-Tele Float

Unit Notes - Hiring Process: Candidate Interview: Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement - Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted - Floating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing.

Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely NO HOME BASE FACILITY! MUST BE 60 MILES FROM EACH FACILITY LISTED BELOW! Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats:

• Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week May float within that facility if needed
• Option B – Just-In-Time (JIT): Facility assigned 1–2 hours before shift start via call

Unit/Department: MS-Tele Float - What units are included in the float pool: Mutliple units ranging for General MS-Tele into various specialities from Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, & ED Obs - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 based on acuity - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Population: Adults- Geriatrics Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more" - Experience or 'Must have' skills: "Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience Prefer prior neuro experience" - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Heparin - Common titratable &/or set rate drips - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment -Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling?
