About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Alexandria, Virginia, 22306!
Job Title: RN PACU Agency Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 10 Weeks Shift: Full Time, 36 hours per week Hours per Shift: 9 hours (can be between 5:30 AM - 9 PM) Experience: Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required. Strong perianesthesia background preferred. License: Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or active multistate compact (NLC) license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required. Must-Have: Candidates must be comfortable with variable start times, including early starts. Description: The role involves providing care to surgical patients in the recovery phase post-anesthesia. Nurses will float to PreOperative, Post-Anesthesia, and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy areas as required. Candidates must be comfortable with on-call expectations, including weekday and weekend shifts. There is a commitment to rotate on call every 6 weeks, covering both weekdays and holidays. The unit houses 13 bays and has a patient ratio of 2:1 in Phase 1 and 3:1 in Phase 2. Common cases include total joint arthroplasty, spinal surgeries, orthopedic sports medicine, and general surgery. The working environment is fast-paced and emphasizes strong teamwork.
