Job Title: Construction Laborer

Job Description

This entry-level construction laborer role supports a large data center construction project through a wide range of basic site tasks. You will work as part of a small crew to keep the job site clean, organized, and safe by handling site cleanup, fencing, banners, material movement, and other general labor activities. This is a long-term opportunity with guaranteed work for at least 22 months and potential to extend up to five years. You are expected to provide and wear your own personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, work boots, gloves, safety vest, and other standard construction safety gear.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks on a commercial construction site, including site cleanup and debris removal.
  • Install, adjust, and maintain temporary fencing and banners around the job site as directed.
  • Move, stage, and organize construction materials and equipment throughout the site.
  • Support basic construction activities using hand tools and power tools under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE, including hard hat, boots, gloves, and vest.
  • Assist the crew with heavy lifting and material handling as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to complete daily tasks.
  • Arrive on time and work full scheduled shifts, including potential overtime.
  • Adapt to changing site needs and perform other related laborer duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing general labor tasks, preferably in construction or a similar environment.
  • Ability to work on commercial construction sites and follow site safety protocols.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Comfort using basic hand tools and power tools in a construction setting.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliability to work a 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday (5 x 10-hour shifts).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Previous experience on commercial or data center construction projects is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn entry-level construction tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a small crew.
  • Attention to safety and proper use of PPE.
  • Comfort with long-term project commitments and consistent weekly hours.

Work Environment

The work takes place outdoors on a commercial data center construction site. You will work a regular daytime schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, typically totaling 50 hours per week with potential for additional overtime. The environment is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting, working with hand tools and power tools, and performing tasks in varying weather conditions. You must provide and consistently wear your own PPE, including a hard hat, work boots, gloves, and safety vest, and follow all site safety rules and procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of De Soto, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
