FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Summary We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time Food Service Worker/Cashier positions at Idaho State University located at 1065 South 8th Avenue, Pocatello, ID 83209. Location Idaho State University – 1065 South 8th Avenue, Pocatello, ID 83209. Schedule Full‑time and part‑time schedules available. Monday through Saturday. Hours may vary; details will be provided during the interview. Requirements No experience required. Pay Range $12.00 to $15.00 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved food recipes and production standards to maintain proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to supervisor. Perform sales transactions, including entering sales into the cash register and ensuring accurate recording. Handle cash, make change, accept cards and other forms of payment, and issue receipts. Follow procedures for issuing cash refunds. Manage change funds and cash receipts, ensuring the cash drawer complies with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned.
