Early Intervention Specialist

Summary The Early Intervention Specialist supports the overall mission and purpose of The Warren Center by effectively evaluating and treating the developmental needs of children enrolled in The Warren Center Early Childhood Intervention Program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Developmental Services Assess the need for developmental services Plan, implement, and revise appropriate developmental plans for children and families Provide the services directly to children and families or as a consultant to other service providers Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply the coaching model approach, with strong collaborative documentation skills to support family-centered practices Document all services, activities, and consultations within areas of training and expertise Service Coordination Collaborate with families in a non-judgmental, healthy, helpful relationship Complete Individual Service Plans that focus on regular routines within the context of the family’s life that enhance each child's development Document all service coordination activities Connect families with appropriate resources and support services within agency and the broader community Coordinate and collaborate care between professionals Transdisciplinary Collaborate in joint program planning through mutual team support Initiative in sharing knowledge and generating ideas with team members to support continuous program improvement Supervise student interns or volunteers as appropriate Professional Development Demonstrate professional conduct and ethical practice at all times Endorse The Warren Center philosophy of service delivery, policies, and procedures Participate in continuing education and impart knowledge gained to other staff Serve as a resource for agency and community as opportunities arise Actively engage in problem solving to support self, team, and organizational goals Education and Experience Required: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in child development, early childhood education, social work, special education, or a related degree Preferred: Master’s Degree or above Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: Certified, registered, or in process of applying for EIS Professional as detailed in policies of Texas Early Childhood Intervention Required: Adult, Child, Infant first aid, CPR and AED certification Experience Required: Employment or practicum experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and/or their families Additional Technical Skills, Traits and Knowledge High energy and passion for The Warren Center’s mission is essential Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with children, families, team members, physicians, and professionals; ability to appropriately observe professional boundaries Organizational skills and ability to independently meet the demands of a large caseload, such as scheduling, documenting, meeting timelines Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening visits if warranted Skills in conflict management, negotiation and resolution, teamwork, and ability to work amid distractions Ability to travel independently to and from client homes Environment Moderate to heavy physical exertion, including pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds Kneeling, stooping, sitting on floor, rising from sitting, walking, standing Good vision Ability to read, write, and perform simple math Ability to create methodologies and strategies to accomplish goals Ability to analyze and synthesize data, develop plans, strategies, and outcomes based on data analysis Ability to use common office equipment Knowledge and use of computer technology applications utilized by The Warren Center Work is performed in an office shared by several people, therapeutic playroom, child-care setting or client home Work includes driving to and from many settings Equal Opportunity Employer The Warren Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we believe in an inclusive culture for all.
