Azure AI Cloud Engineer

Salary: $90,000 - 125,000 per year Requirements:

• We require production full-stack engineering experience with modern web and API technologies.
• We need hands-on experience with Azure application deployment, identity, configuration, monitoring, and secure service integration.
• We expect experience designing RESTful or structured interfaces, server-side validation, asynchronous processing, and transactional or idempotent integration patterns.
• We require experience with infrastructure or configuration as code, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and rollback or recovery practices.
• We need strong capability in secure handling of PII/PHI, file uploads, secrets, logs, and least-privilege authorization.
• We expect the ability to work from government-controlled schemas, interfaces, cloud services, security requirements, and approval gates without inventing unsupported environment details.
• We require clear technical documentation skills and effective collaboration with UX, frontend, accessibility, security/privacy, program, and government platform teams.
• We require experience with PII/PHI/HIPA/FedRamp/FISMA and public sector implementations.
• We require awareness of AI Cloud and Microsoft AI Foundry-related work.

• We implement secure server-side APIs, including validation, error handling, throttling, and output encoding.
• We maintain typed contracts with the frontend and repeat integrity-related browser checks on the server.
• We prevent unauthenticated or unauthorized access to sensitive data and administrative functions.
• We implement the canonical report model, client-approved data dictionary, branch rules, controlled vocabularies, and interface mappings.
• We build the adapter to the government-identified client site interface with idempotency, retries, reconciliation, correlation identifiers, receipts, and operational failure handling.
• We ensure client-supplied identifiers and state do not bypass server authorization or validation.
• We deploy only to client-approved Azure services and regions using reproducible infrastructure and configuration.
• We implement environment separation, managed identities, approved secrets management, Entra/PIV integration, least privilege, encryption, network controls, and CDC-directed logging.
• We avoid hardcoding subscriptions, tenants, resource identifiers, secrets, endpoints, or feature states in application logic.
• We enforce allowed categories, extensions, MIME and signature checks, size and count limits, malware scanning, quarantine, status handling, storage instructions, and retention controls for document and upload services.
• We isolate upload processing from final report submission and minimize unnecessary PHI or PII in logs.
• If separately authorized and funded, we integrate Azure Document Intelligence behind its own feature flag and approved data flow, keeping extracted values reversible and requiring reporter action.
• We implement authenticated draft, review, and publish controls for CDC-managed guidance, tooltips, FAQs, labels, controlled lists, surveys, and configuration.
• We preserve attributable change history, versioning, rollback, and separation between editor, publisher, and developer privileges.
• We build unit, API, contract, integration, upload-policy, security, performance, recovery, and regression tests.
• We support dependency controls, vulnerability remediation, CI/CD gates, deployment approval, rollback, observability, incident evidence preservation, and production troubleshooting under our health sector clients direction.
• We maintain source, build and configuration artifacts, architecture and data-flow documentation, interface specifications, runbooks, release evidence, and transition materials.
