Location: Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, or Saratoga Springs, New York

Pay: $125,000 to $147,000/year

What you'll do

Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
Respond to USPTO Office Actions and conduct examiner interviews.
Perform patentability, freedom to operate, and validity analyses.
Research emerging technologies and developments in patent law.
Collaborate with inventors, in house counsel, and foreign associates.
Participate in client meetings and business development activities.

What you'll need

Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Undergraduate or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications.
Experience with software, electronics, electromechanical, or image processing technologies.
Strong legal writing, technical, and communication skills.
