A Funeral Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting funeral services by assisting with preparations, attending ceremonies, and ensuring respectful and compassionate care throughout the process. Working closely with a small team and reporting to the Senior Funeral Assistant, this position combines support duties with moments of leadership during funeral ceremonies. The role requires local travel and emphasizes empathy, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup for funeral services
- Provide compassionate support to grieving families
- Coordinate local travel logistics for funeral events
- Work collaboratively within a small team of 1-3 members
- Support and occasionally lead funeral ceremonies as needed
- Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of service delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in funeral services
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service skills with compassionate communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical stamina to handle duties
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Ability to assist in lifting a casket in and out of a funeral vehicle.
