Concrete Finisher

FG Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our civil construction team. This position performs concrete work on roadway, drainage, underground utility, and infrastructure projects throughout South Florida.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience placing, leveling, finishing, and repairing concrete in an active construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Place, spread, level, and finish poured concrete.
• Build and set forms according to project specifications.
• Use hand tools and power tools, including screeds, floats, trowels, edgers, and grinders.
• Finish curbs, sidewalks, slabs, drainage structures, headwalls, inlets, and other concrete surfaces.
• Apply smooth, broom, or other specified finishes.
• Check forms, elevations, slopes, and alignment before and during concrete placement.
• Patch, repair, and correct concrete surfaces as needed.
• Assist with concrete pours, form removal, cleanup, and jobsite preparation.
• Follow plans, measurements, and instructions from supervisors.
• Work safely around heavy equipment, traffic, excavations, and underground utilities.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform additional construction duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Concrete Finisher is required.
• Experience with civil, roadway, drainage, or underground utility construction is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing methods, curing, and formwork.
• Ability to use concrete finishing tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to read measurements and understand grades, elevations, and slopes.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in South Florida weather.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull construction materials and equipment.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a crew.
• Flexibility to work overtime, early mornings, nights, or weekends when required by the project.
• Reliable transportation to jobsites is required.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position requiring extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working outdoors. Employees may work near traffic, heavy equipment, excavations, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
