Early Professional - Transportation Engineer

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time,Early Career Civil Transportation Engineerfor ourTacoma, WA office. Be involved in projects with ourPacific Mountain West Transportation Engineering Teamand be a part of a growing organization that meets ourclient's objectives and solves their challenges. Take part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector.Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, design, concept development, and construction oftransportation civil infrastructure.Work with a team to generate accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project. Deliver work product meeting acceptable industry standards for design, safety and functionality. Your Impact Assist and support design teams in the execution of project delivery Provide technicalinput during variousstages of project, including preliminarydesign, final design andcontract documentationincluding cost estimates and specifications Perform basic design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) to develop conceptual transportation projects in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads/OpenRoads and/or MicroStation Perform standard computations and analysis Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues Collect data and gather information or documents Attend design meetings and coordinate with team members Develop memorandums and other written technical documents Maintain positive team relationships Assist and coordinate with key staff across disciplines (i.e. drainage, structures) as required Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. 0 to 1 years of relevant posteducation experience. Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others. Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. Basic proficiency with technical writing, software, technology, and tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Uphold workplace safety and abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training Certification. Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads). Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline. A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations. Expected Salary: $65,600 - $82,000 WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
