SUMMARY

Reporting to the Complex Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Fabricator is responsible for fabrication of projects, installation of project, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment throughout Associated Feed. This individual will also be responsible for minimizing downtime by detecting potential mechanical and electrical problems.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Must have good analytical skills, able to troubleshoot and make on the spot corrections to emergency conditions.
• Able to climb stairs, ladders and work safely at elevated heights of 200 feet and in a confined space.
• Knowledge of fabrication welding and cutting are necessary using a Mig welder, stick welder, plasma cutter, torch, breaks, shears, power tools.
• Light industrial electric required, electrical schematics, engineering drawings hydraulics, power transmissions, pneumatics and basic computer knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Competencies:

• Manufacturing/operations and industry methods, best practices, standards and procedures
• Cal-OSHA regulations, procedures and requirements
• Technical and mechanical systems related to operation
• Maintain high quality control standards; effectively problem-solve, supervise and troubleshoot
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff throughout the organization
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Work flexible hours; OT, and rotating weekends

Ability to:

• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, plant teams, and vendors
• Make complex decisions
• Work independently and accomplish projects largely with little supervision

Experience and Training Guidelines:

• Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in industrial or production environment
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements
• Computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, timekeeping, production management and inventory control systems; SAP experience desired
• California driver's license and insurable DMV record

SPECIAL DEMANDS

Physical requirements:

• Frequent standing and/or long period of time on feet
• Occasional bending, squatting and kneeling
• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds
• Occasional grasping, holding and reaching
• Constant use of overall vision
• Frequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditions
• Frequent co-worker contact; occasional working alone
• Frequent exposure to loud noise
• Available to respond to emergency calls; work weekends and/or holidays
• Able to climb ladders/stairs up to heights in excess of 100'

Working conditions:

• Work may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment. May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy and slick environment. Adhere to all PPE Guidelines as established by OSHA and the company
