Overview
We are looking for a vibrant and engaging Sales Associate/Medical Receptionist, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and optical services. We will train you to combine technical proficiency with exceptional customer service to help patients select and fit eyewear that meets their vision needs and personal style. Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their prescriptions, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences while providing guidance on optical options.
  • Educate patients on proper lens types, lens coatings, lens care, eye health maintenance, and the importance of regular check-ups, especially for pediatric and senior care populations.
  • Handle retail sales transactions confidently, applying retail math skills to manage inventory, pricing, and billing while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical records privacy.
  • Verify and authorize vision insurance benefits
  • Accurately enter orders and process transactions using our software system
  • Maintain attractive frame displays and retail merchandising
  • Answer phones and assist with appointment scheduling
  • Support inventory management and product organization
  • Participate in practice marketing events and community outreach
  • Contribute to meeting sales goals and revenue targets
  • Assist with front desk responsibilities and screening patients on our equipment when necessary

Qualifications

  • Proven retail sales experience required
  • Optical sales experience preferred, but we can train very effectively
  • Ability to confidently recommend premium eyewear products
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive, energetic, and patient-focused personality
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong attention to detail with order entry and insurance verification
  • Demonstrated retail sales skills with the ability to manage retail math effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse patient groups including pediatrics and senior care populations.
  • Capable of working collaboratively within a healthcare team while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)
