Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

The Stepdown RN will provide care to patients transitioning from higher levels of care. This critical role entails working closely with healthcare teams to monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.

Shift Details

Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Holiday Rotation: Required
Weekend Rotation: Yes, every other weekend

Patient Ratios

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, ensuring optimal patient care and attention.

Floating Requirements

The Stepdown RN may be required to float within the scope to meet facility needs, as is customary for current staff nurses. Agency staff will float first before travelers.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required
First-time Travelers: Accepted
License: South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS
Preferred Certifications: NIHSS

Miscellaneous Information

Block Schedule Accommodation: Approval can be requested prior to assignment, but not guaranteed
Local Radius: 60 miles
Local Candidates: Not accepted
RTO Restrictions: All RTO must be included at the time of submission and will be approved based on facility needs
Guaranteed Hours: The facility is permitted to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Additional Information

During hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should avoid confirming new assignments during this period.
