Travel Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Thornton, CO

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift: 1P - 1A

Job Description: The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting with emergency conditions. This role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to respond rapidly to the needs of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments and comprehensive nursing evaluations.
• Manage and administer medications as per protocols.
• Conduct pain assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
• Monitor vital signs and implement EKG and defibrillation techniques as necessary.
• Participate in trauma level 1 & 2 activations and interventions.
• Provide behavioral health crisis interventions and pediatric emergency care.
• Conduct blood administration, procedural sedation, and assist with wound care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1-2 years of current acute care Emergency Department RN experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications.
• Must possess a valid RN license.
• Experience in a trauma level 1 or 2 facility is preferred.
• Previous experience with Meditech EMR is a plus.
