Professional development through the Clinicians in Action program. Responsibilities As a Speech Language Pathologist, you help patients get their power back. You assist patients with communication, swallowing, and work to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. You are responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, including designing treatment plans and working with patients to execute those plans. You are a healer and helper, adept at addressing the whole patient and seeing them as an individual. You design programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance speech and communication abilities. You adapt to the needs of patients and thrive in diverse settings, from cleaning equipment to reporting to meetings. You collaborate with peers and are willing to refer patients for alternative care. You act as a teacher who trains patients and caregivers on the skills needed to promote independence and productivity. Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area accepted by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
