Behavior Technician

Behavior TechnicianAssist in the implementation of behavior skills instruction and interventions designed to meet the specific goals and objectives for children with Autism and related developmental disabilities.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Under the direction of the ABA, provide behavior supports and interventions to students in 1:1 and group settings.Use intensive teaching and environmental behavior interventions.Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).Follow and record data for prescribed protocols, as instructed.Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.Assist with teacher and paraprofessional training consistent with students' individual education programs (IEP) and behavior intervention support plans (BISP).Effectively communicate with teachers and paraprofessionals regarding student progress.Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with students.Collaborate with the IEP team including student, teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, and outside professionals.Assist BCBA in preparing student materials as instructed.Participate in professional development and other training programs, as required.Maintain student confidentiality.Perform all other duties as assigned.Employment Terms: Nine (9) month classified hourly contractFLSA Qualification: Non-ExemptEvaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Staff Evaluation (2.21/classified).Physical Demands: This is an overview intended for compliance with the ADA – it is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed.
