The Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Jay branch, including daily operations, staff leadership, audit readiness, customer experience, and community growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone who can develop people while stepping in to support customers and branch activity when needed. Key Responsibilities: Hire, train, coach, and develop staff while ensuring excellent customer experience and consistent performance. Drive deposit and relationship growth through account opening, outbound calling, referrals, and community engagement. Lead from the front by assisting customers directly, resolving escalations, and stepping into daily branch work when needed. Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while continuously improving branch results. Lead branch operations, including security, cash controls, dual control standards, and audit readiness. Qualifications: Supervisory or leadership experience in banking, retail financial services, or a related customer-focused environment. Proven ability to coach and develop employees while maintaining high operational accuracy and accountability. Strong understanding of branch operations, deposit products, security procedures, and service expectations. Proven ability to generate new business through outreach and relationship building. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills. Comfortable being a hands-on leader who supports daily branch activity and leads by example. Commitment to community engagement and representing the bank with professionalism. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Location: This is an on-site position, located in Jay, ME Training for the position will take place in Farmington, ME Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this role is $60,000-$85,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on several factors, including experience, job-related skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for applicable annual incentive compensation and company-sponsored benefits.
