Software Engineer, Clinical Data Integration
$75 - $87 per hourSaidGig
As a Software Engineer focused on Clinical Data, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building backend integration services that facilitate the movement of clinical data between electronic health record (EHR) systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHR APIs using TypeScript and Node.js. Key Responsibilities
- Build robust TypeScript/Node.js services for EHR integrations.
- Architect integration services using HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHR APIs.
- Deploy microservices on AWS with containerization; implement data validation, monitoring, and HIPAA-compliant security.
- Contribute to code reviews and system-design discussions.
- Utilize AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and collaborate with product managers on clinical workflow solutions.
- 3+ years of experience building production systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Prior experience at a healthcare startup or health-data integration platform, with knowledge of FHIR, HL7, patient identity management, or clinical data modeling.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, OOP, concurrency, and distributed systems.
- Experience in RESTful or event-driven API design and implementation.
- Familiarity with microservices or cloud-native application scaling (AWS, Kubernetes).
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident located in the United States; this role is on-site in Seattle, WA or Madison, WI.
- Experience implementing OAuth2.0 / SMART on FHIR authentication flows.
This is a full-time, on-site W-2 employment position based in Seattle, WA or Madison, WI.
CompensationHourly compensation ranges from $75 to $87.
