Chief, Division of Epilepsy

The client is seeking a full-time faculty neurologist to serve as the Chief of the Division of Epilepsy. In this role, the Chief will advance the Division’s clinical, educational, and research missions with goals of optimizing patient access and faculty productivity, improving the patient experience, increasing extramural research funding, and supporting education for medical students, residents, and fellows. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Chief will foster and recruit faculty and trainees, strengthen collaborative relationships with departmental and partner teams, enhance outreach activities, and engage local and regional community physicians. Responsibilities include developing local clinical protocols, clinical pathways, and outcomes measures to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of care, and leading the Division across clinical care, research, and training. The Chief will supervise a team of academic neurologists providing individualized inpatient and outpatient care, delivering education, and conducting research in a collegial environment. The Division of Epilepsy includes seven faculty members who provide clinical services across outpatient clinics and inpatient epilepsy monitoring, as well as in- and outpatient electroencephalography services, and supports one-year fellowships in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology. The Chief will oversee collaboration across a multidisciplinary epilepsy program that involves adult and pediatric epilepsy specialists, epilepsy surgery, neuropsychology, and related clinical support teams, with fellowship opportunities that emphasize clinical and procedural skills alongside participation in clinical research and anti-seizure medication trials. Minimum requirements include an MD/DO degree, completion of ACGME-accredited neurology residency training, completion of fellowship training in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology, eligibility for licensure in Texas, and board-certified or board-eligible Neurology with subspecialty credentials.
