Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Thomasville, NC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15), Friday to Sunday

Job Description: The role involves caring for adults aged 18 years and older with behavioral health diagnoses, often accompanied by multiple medical comorbidities. The unit specializes in conditions such as dementia with behavioral disturbances, Alzheimer's, depression, anxiety, mania, and psychosis. Registered Nurses in this position will engage in various direct patient care activities and may float to other units as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for patients with behavioral health diagnoses.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Engage in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain patient safety and assist with daily living activities.
• Document patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Psych Mental Health Certification per ANCC preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification preferred.
