Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist

Duties

Leads cross functional coordination through the Fleet Management Council, conducting strategic planning for development of long-range plans and program objectives, to define and clarify the fleet mission, goals, objectives, and performance measures.

Develops, issues, and monitors Department policies, procedures, instructions, and guidance pertaining to the acquisition, control, shipping, handling, distribution, inventory, and warehousing of motor vehicles utilized at overseas posts.

Serves as a first level supervisor for subordinate staff handling all aspects of program oversight—from acquisition and disposal of motor vehicles to delivery of training.

Initiates or participates in the review for improvement of work methods, organizational features, and the structuring of positions to achieve optimum efficiency, and resolve complaints from employees.

Collaborates with senior level managers in other federal agencies, to include OMB and GSA; interfaces with representatives in other fleet programs; leads/participates in intra and interagency meetings and conferences as a Department representative.
