Customer Support

Reporting directly to the Administrative Manager-Customer Service, the Customer Support for the Parks Department is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to external and internal customers in person, over the phone or online, by helping with class registration, facility rentals and other recreational services offered by the Department. Qualifications Include: High school diploma or GED. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate orally and in writing. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, exceptional customer service skills, professional communication/interpersonal skills, healthy work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team approach. Ability to use office machines including but not limited to computer, printer, fax copy machines and multiline telephone system. A knowledge of computers and Windowsbased applications including Microsoft Office tools. Understanding and willingness to learn new technology including but not limited to websites, software, and online registration systems. Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and effectively multitask and handle changing priorities while maintaining friendliness and professionalism. Must maintain tactfulness and courtesy in public contact situations. Experience in a recreation and/or customer service environment preferred. Meets all employer and department hiring requirements, including passage of a criminal background check, drug test, and essential function screening. Expectations Include: Answers telephone and directs calls, responds to inquiries by email, assists inperson customers, provides information and registration services for recreational programs, and processes payments and refunds. Set up new customer accounts in computer software systems. Perform various departmental clerical tasks, such as typing, copying, filing documents, preparing mailings, and preparing recreation program reports. Perform various departmental financial tasks, including but not limited to, receipting monetary transactions, recording payments, and preparing reports as required. Supporting administration and recreation staff functions as needed. Performs related duties as assigned.
