Transdev in New Carrollton, MD is hiring a Dispatcher for the WMATA Call Center. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. CBA Position $21 - $35.63 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale) Starting pay $21 with progression to $35.63 over 7 years. Benefits include: Vacation: 5 days per year, progressing to 20 days per year Paid Sick Leave: 40 hours yearly for full‑time employees; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days; life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays. Key Responsibilities Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route on time, performance, incidents, etc. Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips. Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services. Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service. Other duties as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred. 3‑5 years' experience dispatching. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills. Problem solving and analytical skills. Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. Physical Requirements Work is accomplished indoors in air- conditioned or well-ventilated facilities. Sit, type, and look at a computer for extended periods (up to 6–9 hours per day). Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in written correspondence. Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer. Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
