Staff Pharmacist Per Diem

This position is located at Via Linda Behavioral Hospital, contracted through CPS. As a per diem, nonexempt Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.

Primary responsibilities include: reviewing, verifying, and dispensing medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy; providing clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring; collaborating with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients; monitoring patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events; supervising and supporting pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow; and ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements.

Location: Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona, specializing in mental health services and substance use treatment for teens and adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will provide coverage to cover PTO, weekends, and holidays as needed. There are no regularly scheduled hours for this position.

About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday from 6:30am-9:30pm. Saturday and Sunday hours 8am-4:30pm. The pharmacy utilizes Omnicell and Cerner including E-Mar and CPOE.

Required qualifications: BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy, current Arizona Pharmacist license in good standing, experience using MS Office and pharmacy information systems, demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting, demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns.

Preferred qualifications: experience in an inpatient hospital environment, experience in mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
