Machine Tool OperatorPerform functions assigned in the set up and operation of machine tools applying knowledge of machining methods. Fabricate, modify, or repair precision mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Learn and understand the proper operation of your machine, reporting any problems to ManagementUse and be able to read micrometers and bore gaugesCenter chucks on machine to accept parts for grindingMachine indicate or "zero" parts on machinesMachine parts to the specifications called for on "Travelers"Properly lubricate grinding equipment and partsKnow and understand the dust recovery system and associated safety rules, and the potential exposures to grinding dust and dressing rock dustOther Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must speak, read and write the English languageShould have basic computer software skillsPrior work experience in conventional machining (Mill / Lathe) helpful but not required.Should be able to read blueprintsHave knowledge of and understand the Control of Non-conforming productHave knowledge and understanding of Suspected Unapproved PartsHave knowledge and understanding of all safety procedures applicable to the job or jobs being performedHave an understanding of how to look up SDS on any chemical they may come in contact withEducation / Experience Requirements:Must have H.S.
