Cardiac Device Technician

Job Summary Are you passionate about the patient experience? Join Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia as a Cardiac Device Technician. Responsibilities Interpret and re‑program cardiac pacemakers and AICDs with minimal physician supervision. Diagnose critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution. Collaborate with physicians on device status and document analyses in EMR. Educate patients on device usage, remote monitoring, and follow‑up protocols. Ensure charges are accurately captured for device interrogation. Schedule patients for follow‑up appointments in EMR and remote website; promptly reschedule no‑shows. Assist EP nurses and non‑physician practitioners with patient teaching. Travel to regional offices for assigned device clinics. Additional Duties Participate in positive, proactive inter‑ and intra‑departmental communication. Serve as a resource to physicians and other staff regarding device patients and services. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; notify appropriate personnel of safety issues. Ensure programming rooms are stocked with necessary supplies. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Qualifications Minimum of five years’ experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemakers and AICDs (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, St. Jude) or a cardiac device technology certification from a recognized training school. Experience managing remote device transmissions (Carelink, Latitude, Merlin). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current BLS certification preferred.
