Data Center Operations Technician (24/7 Onsite)

Responsibilities Work onsite at the data center location and support 24x7 shift operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Possess basic understanding of data center environments (racks, power, cooling, and cabling). Demonstrate a hands‑on attitude and willingness to perform physical and operational tasks. Adhere strictly to processes, procedures, and safety guidelines. Maintain good documentation skills for logs, checklists, and shift handover notes. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Remain calm, attentive, and organized in operational or high‑priority situations. Be reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to follow instructions accurately. Monitor data center facilities (power, UPS, HVAC, environmental alerts) 24x7x365 for Detroit manufacturing, corporate, and data center environments. Provide L1 application and infrastructure monitoring support across servers, network, storage, backup, cloud, and hybrid environments. Support plant IT & OT/IT coordination with internal teams and third‑party vendors. Handle incidents, service requests, and problems in alignment with governance. Maintain compliance audit readiness and documentation, including ITAR/EAR support. Monitor physical access control, audit compliance, and off‑site tape coordination. Coordinate with facilities for physical security, equipment moves, and third‑party vendors. Perform on‑site monitoring and operational checks of data center infrastructure and equipment. Respond to system alarms, infrastructure alerts, and facility notifications. Execute standard operating procedures for normal operations and incident situations. Carry out physical tasks such as equipment inspections, cable checks, inventory verification, and escorting authorized personnel. Support incident resolution by following defined operational steps and escalating when required. Maintain logs, checklists, and operational records during each shift. Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to support maintenance and repair activities. Ensure data center safety, cleanliness, and compliance with operational standards. Participate in shift handovers, communicating status and outstanding actions clearly. Support scheduled activities such as maintenance windows, equipment upgrades, and audits. Qualifications Prior experience working in a data center, operations center, or technical facility. Familiarity with IT service management or ticketing systems. Understanding of power systems, HVAC, or facility monitoring concepts. Exposure to vendor coordination or escorting procedures. Basic technical knowledge of servers, network equipment, or hardware components. Certification or training related to IT operations, facilities, or data center fundamentals. BACHELOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE. Compensation Base Salary Range: $60,000 to $80,000 Per Annum Benefits Discretionary Annual Incentive.
