School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Blue Springs, Missouri

Expand your school-based occupational therapy expertise with a dynamic contract role in the North Kansas City area. This opportunity provides the chance to work across several sites, splitting time between K-12 locations primarily elementary schools and an innovative Early Education Center. Each day brings variety, as your assignments may have you traveling to different schools, maximizing your impact on a diverse student population.

The position is full-time, running from October 20th through May 28th, with supervision and support provided directly by the district. You’ll collaborate closely with one or two supervising therapists as you help students achieve their goals through direct therapy sessions. The average caseload is 30-35 students, creating a manageable environment for meaningful and individualized interventions.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required; OTs also considered
• School-based pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and supervisors
• Experience adapting therapy plans to diverse developmental needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K-12 and early education students
• Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state standards
• Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and supervising OTs to develop and implement student-centered plans
• Travel between assigned sites as scheduled, with mileage for inter-site travel reimbursed
• Participate in virtual interviews and regular district meetings
