Responsibilities

· Prepare individual income tax returns, including all related schedules

· Prepare tax returns for various business entities

· Prepare monthly financial statements

· Perform research, analysis, and interpretation of current tax laws

· Prepare written communication and respond to notices from tax authorities

· Resolve tax issues for clients such as garnishments, liens, and levies

· Provide advice on a wide range of topics related to decision making about costs, expenditures, and financial practices

Competencies

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to build new clientele and retain existing clientele

· Ability to work long hours when needed, especially during peak seasons

· Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

· 2 years of accounting experience in public accounting

· Experience with preparation of financial and income statements and balance sheets

· Proficient with specialized tax software (preferred but not necessary)

· Accounting credentials or desire to pursue credentials preferred

· Working vehicle to be able to travel locally for business needs
