PRIMARY DUTY


Reporting directly to the Estate Manager, the Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the Manor campus and ensuring we are meeting health, safety standards, and legal requirements

SCHEDULE

Tuesday-Saturday 7:30am-3:30pm

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
• Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.
• Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
• Sort, count, and mark clean linens, and store them in the linen closet.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
• Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
• Observe precautions required to protect property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to the Estate Manager.
• Prepare rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.
• Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware.
• Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies using a wheeled cart.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Estate Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to observe and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
• Skilled at looking for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
• Displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and makes timely decisions.
• Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
• Ability to reliably perform all tasks without supervision

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid Driver's License
• Proven working experience as a housekeeper or relevant position.
• Well-versed in housekeeping best practices
• After accepting a contingent offer of employment, participate in a job fitness evaluation with hiring staff.
