About This Role Job Summary The Textron Systems Communications Strategist will partner with the company’s functional teams (i.e., Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Environmental Health & Safety, Supply Chain, Marketing & Communications) as assigned to assist in the development of employee and leader communications campaigns that support Textron Systems’ growth. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Marketing & Communications, you will support the leaders of your assigned functional teams in two ways: To strategize and continuously improve communications within their organizations for engagement, retention and successful execution To strategize and continuously improve their teams’ communications to the entire business to ensure organizational alignment and successful execution In addition, our Communications Strategists manage and continuously improve the company’s employee and leader communications channels, including but not limited to e-newsletters, digital signage and print materials. The Communications Strategist will also partner with the broader team to develop and execute external communications efforts, including but not limited to social media & owned content, to support functional team and brand efforts. Our Communications Strategists also manage the vendors and tools we utilize to support this work, including our email distribution and measurement tool, digital signage solution and others. Candidates should be detail-oriented and highly motivated, with the ability to think strategically, adapt quickly and work equally effectively individually or as part of a team. Excellent writing, editing and communication skills, as well as analytical abilities, are essential. Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to) Deliver high-impact, innovative communications, partnering with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging Continuously improve style and format of communications based on our style guide and playbooks and ongoing metrics Lead regular meetings with internal customers to understand and plan ahead of communications needs Create and execute effective, measurable, omnichannel employee and leader communication plans and campaigns to generate alignment and successful execution Actively contribute to other projects, special programs, cross-functional initiatives or tasks as assigned Qualifications 3-5 years of pertinent experience Exemplary writing and editing skills Experience with developing and executing strategic campaigns for employee, leader and executive communications across channels Experience managing newsletters Superior attention to detail Reliable project planning and execution skills Action-oriented self-starter Highly professional verbal and written communications skills to interact successfully with peers, employees and leaders at all levels of the organization Experience working in a high-compliance environment, i.e., aerospace and defense (preferred), health care, finance, government Ability to prioritize and execute work successfully in a fast-paced environment Preferred: experience developing and utilizing KPIs to inform communications continuous improvement efforts All candidates are expected to provide recent professional writing samples Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Business Primary Location – Hunt Valley, MD How We Care Flexible Work Schedules Education Assistance Career Development & Training Opportunities Wellness Program (including Fitness Reimbursement) Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(K) with Company Funding Paid Parental Leave Are you a Military Veteran? Textron’s compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $71,400 - $107,000 per year.
