Senior Consultant - Alternatives

Boston, New York, United States, Chicago asset-management, Management Consulting, Alternatives Perm Hybrid The Role We’re hiring a Senior Consultant to join a fast-growing Portfolio Monitoring practice focused on private markets and alternative investments . This role sits at the intersection of operating model design, technology implementation, and data-driven transformation . You’ll work with private equity, credit, real estate, and alternative investment firms to modernise portfolio monitoring processes that are often manual, fragmented, and inefficient. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys real delivery, technology-enabled change, and client-facing work — not just advisory decks. What You’ll Be Working On Designing and implementing portfolio monitoring operating models Current-state and future-state assessments Target operating models Roadmaps and phased delivery plans Supporting and leading portfolio monitoring technology implementations Translating business requirements into clear technical and functional specifications Analysing existing processes to identify automation and efficiency opportunities Working closely with client stakeholders, product teams, and delivery teams Supporting data accuracy, controls, and reporting improvements Providing training and post-go-live support to client users Monitoring system performance and supporting enhancements Staying current on private markets, portfolio monitoring, and technology trends Acting as a mentor and trusted advisor to junior consultants What We’re Looking For 3–5 years’ experience in: Management consulting, or Technology delivery roles, or Operating roles within private markets / alternative investments Strong understanding of private markets (PE, credit, real estate, venture, infrastructure) Experience delivering technology-enabled transformation initiatives Proven ability to manage workstreams and deliver outcomes end-to-end Comfortable working across operating models, data, and systems Strong communication skills — able to translate complex concepts into clear insights Experience with data and analysis tools (e.g. Excel, BI tools) Ability to work independently in a remote, client-facing environment If you don’t meet every requirement but have strong private markets or portfolio monitoring experience, we still encourage you to apply.
